Exciting news! I've been interviewed by the host of a major podcast, The Future and You, which plays for a pretty hefty international audience. It is hosted by science fiction writer Stephen Euin Cobb, who was Johnny on the spot with some very insightful questions about the future of sexuality, as well as power dynamics in sexual relationships. It airs on Wednesdays. I believe mine will air on Dec. 17, but it is possible it may air tonight. At any rate, if you miss it, I think you can listen to a recording. Visit the website for time and other details. Thanks Steve! At this very moment, however, I am looking at an article about me in Metro Spirit, which is weird because it's a paper where I spent more than half of my career as a journalist. The last three years or so, I covered the arts, no less. And now, there I am on Page 28, yammering on about dominance and submission like it was no little thang.
Thanks to Tom Grant for the words and the image, and Bob Lee - who gave me the Dracula book I have in my library - for his input in the imaging process. And to whomever else had a hand in it as well. The article is called "Vampires in Hephzibah," a headline which appears just below a very hungry-looking photo of yours truly. But I assure you all, I am still a vegetarian and have not switched to any sort of liquid diet. I have to admit, though, it does look like a pic of someone who would write about vampires. Move over Anne Rice!
As much of a thrill as it is to see my mug and quotes, I have to admit that seeing Claudio's name in print (and yours too, Miranda) is what really got my heart all a-flutter. Check it out when you get the chance. It hit the stands today. The paper has a very nicely done beer cover this week, though, so I don't expect them to hang around long. Get yours while you can.
And one more thing...stop back by tomorrow for an interview with the vampire himself, le Maestro Claudio du Fresne.
